Perry County Parks and Lakes

Arethusa Springs is the main park where all New Lexington events are usually held.

  • Amenities:  Playground, Baseball fields, Disc golf, Shelter house with picnic tables, Restrooms, Electric, Pool
  • Pool information:
    Operating Hours are from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., 7 days a week.
  • PLEASE SEE THE POOL MANAGER DURING OPERATING HOURS TO PURCHASE A MEMBERSHIP OR SCHEDULE A POOL PARTY.
  • Use of the shelter house requires a $75 registration fee and completion of a registration form at the Village Administration office.
  • Park is closed from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Pool rules change a little from year to year.

 

Ball’s Court in memory of Alton J. Ball, MD- located at corner of Eastern Ave. & Highland Dr., New Lexington

  • Amenities: Fenced in and paved basketball court, Swings, Slide, Trash barrels, Limited off-street parking
  • Park is closed from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

 

 Broadway Park is located at the corner of W. Broadway and Madison St.

  • Amenities:  Fenced in and paved basketball court, Swings, Slide, Assorted springy rides, Steel climbing bars, Merry-Go-Round, Bench, Trash Barrels
  • Park is closed from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Clouse Lake is located near Somerset (access from St. Rt. 668)

Crooksville Village Park is located Walnut St., Crooksville

Finck’s Nature Preserve is located at 215 E. Main St., Somerset.

It is owned by the Village of Somerset, OH. Maintained by the Perry County, OH OCVNs (Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists)  Features Hiking Trails

Jake Shaner Memorial Park is located 115 Clum Dr., Thornville.

Junction City Park is located at 377 W. Main St., Junction City.

Lewis’s Court is owned and maintained by the village of New Lexington, OH 43764. Lewis’s Court off Summit Street

  • Amenities:  Paved basketball court, Swings, Trash barrels  Park is closed from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

MacGahan Park is located at the northeast corner of Brown and Main

  • Amenities:   Park benches, Picnic tables in pavilion  Park is closed from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.  MacGahan Park is owned and maintained by the Village of New Lexington, OH.

Melick’s Grove Park  Also known as Roseville Village Park is located 42 Maple St.,Roseville.

  • Amenities:  Skateboard park, Shelter house, Playground, Basketball court, Tennis court, Splash pad – coming later 2017

Monday Creek OHV Area – Begley Connector

Monument Square Park located at Broadway and Main Street

  • Monument Square Park contains all the veteran monuments for residents that served our country. Special events are held throughout the year on Memorial Day, Veterans Day, etc.  Park is closed from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.  It is owned and maintained by the village of New Lexington.

New Lexington Reservoir is located at 3207 Palmer Rd. off State Route 13 just north of New Lexington.

  • Rules at the reservoir are as follows:  No swimming, No firearms, No gasoline motor boats, No hunting, Fishing is permitted during daylight hours with a valid Ohio fishing permit, Night fishing is permitted if a special permit is obtained from the Village Administration Office. The night fishing permit is free and is valid for the year. You must provide a photo ID and valid Ohio fishing license to obtain the night fishing permit.  The New Lexington Reservoir is owned and maintained by the Village of New Lexington, OH.

New Straitsville Veterans Memorial Park

Patriot Park is located at 11 N. Main St., Roseville.

  • Amenities:  Gazebo  Patriot Park is owned and maintained by the Village of Roseville, OH.

Perry County Gun Club is located in New Lexington, OH at 4957 Township Rd 149.

Roseville Conservancy Park is located on Fultonrose Road off St. Rt. 93 .

  • Amenities:  Fishing – no license required, Camping – first come, first served, Shelter house – reservation required $25 Roseville residents/$50 non-residents.  The park is owned by the Village of Roseville.

Robinson’s Cave and Museum is located 114 W. Main St., New Straitsville.

  • Owned and maintained by the New Straitsville History Group

Somerset Memorial Park is located just off SR 13.

Stone Church Campground is located 7669 Old Town Rd. SE, Shawnee.

  • Daily Camping Fee is $14 (single site).

Tecumseh Lake is located at 8072 St. Rt. 93, Shawnee.

  • Amenities:  Picnic tables, Trash barrel  The picnic area is located on the drive to the lake.  It is owned and maintained by Wayne National Forest.

Tile Plant Road Park is located at 4757 Tile Plant Rd. , New Lexington

  • Splash Pad: Open June 2, 2017 – September 4, 2017
  • Shelter House: $100 fee with a $100 refundable deposit if everything is cleaned up.

Typical events held at the park:  Birthday Parties, Family Reunions, Wedding Receptions, Graduation Parties
